WELCOME ADDRESS
The Induction Ceremony of Medical College, Takshashila University commenced with a
welcome address by Dr. Jayasree, Dean – Takshashila Medical College, who warmly greeted
the Honorable Chief Guest, dignitaries, faculty members, parents, and the newly admitted
MBBS students. In her address, she highlighted the significance of compassion, integrity, and
lifelong learning in the medical profession, encouraging students to uphold the noble values of
medicine and make the most of the opportunities at Takshashila University. Her words set an

HONOURING THE CHIEF GUEST:
FELICITATION ADDRESS :
The Felicitation Address was delivered by Prof. Dr. S. Senthil, Registrar, Takshashila
University, who expressed his gratitude to Takshashila Medical College and spoke about the
university’s vision and excellence. He shared four guiding principles for the new MBBS
students, emphasizing the importance of life sciences, academic excellence, and discipline. He
highlighted the values of Hard Work, Self-Confidence, and Continuous Effort (HSC) as keys
to success and encouraged students to respect their parents and uphold the nobility of the medical
profession, reminding them that “Doctors are equal to God.”
Following this, Prof. Dr. Vivek Inder Kochhar, Vice Chancellor, Takshashila University,
addressed the gathering, announcing that the MBBS program is the 15th School under the
university. He expressed gratitude to God and the staff for their efforts in establishing the
program and described the day as a milestone achievement. Dr. Kochhar emphasized that
wearing the white coat symbolizes humanity and compassion, urging students to dream big,
stay disciplined, and treat patients with humility and kindness. He concluded by warmly
welcoming all the new MBBS students to Takshashila University.
The Felicitation Address was delivered by Dr. D. Nila Priyadharshini, Pro-Chancellor of
Takshashila University, who expressed her pleasure in addressing the newly admitted MBBS
students and commended their perseverance and hard work in securing their medical seats. She
highlighted the increasing importance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the field of medicine and
encouraged students to embrace technological advancements as integral to their future practice.
Dr. Nila Priyadharshini assured that Takshashila University would provide value-added
courses aimed at enhancing both clinical expertise and AI-driven medical skills. She further
emphasized that, beyond technology, compassion, empathy, and ethical conduct are the true
pillars of the medical profession. Concluding her address, she advised students to stay
inquisitive, foster collaboration, and pursue their studies with dedication and integrity.
The session proceeded with an address by Shri D. Rajarajan, Treasurer of SMVET and ProChancellor of Takshashila University, who warmly welcomed the Chief Guest and emphasized
the vital role of technology in shaping modern healthcare. He highlighted that, according to a
2026 survey, over 66% of doctors are already utilizing AI-based diagnostic tools, such as MRI
and X-ray analysis, to enhance accuracy and efficiency. Shri D. Rajarajan also spoke about the
growing use of smartwatches in tracking vital health parameters and the promising future of
gene-editing technologies, which are expected to significantly reduce disease risks in the
coming years. Concluding his speech, he urged students to remain technologically adaptive and
compassionate in their medical practice, reminding them that “Science can heal the body, but
compassion makes patients feel healed.”
PRESEDENTIAL ADDRESS :
The Presidential Address was delivered by Shri M. Dhanasekaran, Chancellor of
Takshashila University and Chairman of the Sri Manakula Vinayagar and Mailam Group
of Institutions. He extended his heartfelt gratitude to the Honourable Chief Guest, Shri N.
Rangaswamy, Chief Minister of Puducherry, for gracing the occasion and for his continuous
support towards educational advancement. Shri Dhanasekaran acknowledged the Chief
Minister’s pivotal role in facilitating scholarships for students and in supporting the
establishment of the MBBS program at Takshashila Medical College.
Expressing his delight at witnessing the newly admitted students embark on their medical
journey, he encouraged them to foster friendship among their peers, value the opportunity they
have received, and always remain grateful to their parents for their sacrifices. He concluded his
address by wishing all students success in becoming compassionate and dedicated medical
professionals.
SPECIAL CHIEF GUEST ADDRESS :
The Special Chief Guest, Shri S. Jagathrakshakan, Member of Parliament and Chairman
& Founder of BIHER, addressed the gathering with an inspiring speech. He began by
encouraging students to take Shri M. Dhanasekaran, Chancellor of Takshashila University
and Chairman of the Sri Manakula Vinayagar and Mailam Group of Institutions, as their
role model for his dedication and hard work. He highlighted that Tamil Nadu has the highest
number of medical colleges in India, underscoring the state’s commitment to healthcare
education. Emphasizing the significance of medicine, especially in rural areas, he concluded with
a powerful message:
“Doctors are God, and medicine is a noble and pure profession.
CHIEF GUEST ADDRESS :
The Chief Guest, Shri N. Rangaswamy, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Puducherry, began his
address by expressing his happiness in being part of the induction ceremony and extended his
appreciation to Shri M. Dhanasekaran, Chancellor of Takshashila University, for his
relentless efforts, hard work, and remarkable achievements. He described the establishment of
Takshashila University as a historic milestone, accomplished through dedication and
perseverance.
He commended the Sri Manakula Vinayagar group of institutions in Puducherry for
providing quality education to a large number of students across various disciplines, including
engineering and medicine. Highlighting the noble nature of the medical profession, he stated that
“Doctors are those who stand alongside God in saving lives.”
Concluding his address, the Hon’ble Chief Minister emphasized the importance of adapting to
emerging technologies, assuring that Takshashila University would continue to provide
students with the knowledge and skills required for a bright future dedicated to the service of
humanity.
VOTE OF THANKS:
The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Dr. Prasath G., M.S., Takshashila Medical College and
