Introduction :

World Consumer Rights Day is celebrated globally every year on March 15 to raise awareness about consumer rights and promote fair trade practices. To mark this important occasion, Takshashila University, through its School of Commerce, organized a special program to educate students about consumer protection, ethical business practices, and the importance of informed consumer decisions.

The event was held on 16 March 2026at theMultipurpose Hall of Takshashila University, bringing together faculty members, students, and distinguished guests to discuss the significance of consumer rights in today’s rapidly evolving marketplace.

Objective of the Program :

The primary objective of the program was to create awareness among students about consumer rights, responsibilities, and legal protections available to consumers.

The event aimed to:

  • Encourage responsible consumer behavior.

Honouring the Chief Guest :

The program was honored by the presence of Dr. N. Anbarasi, Assistant Professor from the Department of Constitutional Law and Legal Order at The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar LawUniversity, Chennai.

She was warmly welcomed and felicitated by the university dignitaries for her valuable contribution to legal education and consumer awareness. Her presence added immense value to the event and inspired students to understand the legal dimensions of consumer protection.
