Introduction:
Takshashila University observed World Pharmacists Day 2026 on September 30 at the Multipurpose Hall from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. The institutional-level celebration brought students together to recognise the vital role of pharmacists in healthcare. The programme featured Scientific Poster Presentation, SCITOONS, PHARMA-QUIZ and Digital Reel-Making Competition.
Key Objective:
The celebration was organised to promote interactive learning in pharmacy. Through a blend of academic and creative competitions, students were encouraged to apply their knowledge, develop communication skills and engage actively with the profession.
Institutional-Level Competitions: Scientific Poster Presentation – Bringing Ideas to Life:
Students presented pharmaceutical and healthcare concepts through informative, visually engaging posters, strengthening their research and scientific communication skills.
SCITOONS – Creativity Meets Science:Participants conveyed scientific concepts through illustrations and visual storytelling, turning technical topics into clear, memorable visuals.
PHARMA-QUIZ – Testing Knowledge:The quiz tested students’ understanding of pharmacy, medicines and healthcare. Teams answered quickly and eagerly, and the competitive spirit kept the hall lively.
Digital Reel-Making Competition – Pharmacy in a Creative Format:Students combined pharmacy knowledge with digital creativity, producing short-form videos that communicated healthcare messages in a contemporary style.
Expert Interaction:

The programme was enriched by the presence of Dr. K. Krishnaveni, Professor and Head, Department of Pharmacy Practice, Vivekanandha Pharmacy College, Sankari, offered an academic and pharmacy-practice perspective, encouraging students to continue building their knowledge and skills while exploring the diverse opportunities within the pharmacy profession.
Following her insightful address, Dr. T. Senthamizhselvan, Pharm.D., Senior Clinical Pharmacologist, Department of Medical Oncology, Nanjappa Hospitals, Karnataka, whose clinical experience added valuable perspective to the celebration. He guided students through the core discipline of onco-clinical pharmacology and spoke about the evolving role of pharmacists and their contribution to effective healthcare delivery.
Student Engagement – Turning Knowledge into Action
The engaging atmosphere fostered teamwork and mutual support, and students gained confidence in expressing themselves before an audience. Their enthusiasm for exploring pharmacy beyond the textbook reflected a strong commitment to learning and professional growth.
Conclusion:

World Pharmacists Day 2026 at Takshashila University reflected the spirit of “Recognising Pharmacists for a Healthier Tomorrow.” Through learning, creativity and expert interaction, the celebration honoured the contribution of pharmacists today and inspired students to build meaningful careers in healthcare.
