Our internationalization efforts are grounded in mutual respect, academic integrity, and a shared vision for sustainable global impact.
Building on a Strong Educational Legacy
Our journey is built upon the longstanding contribution of the Sri Manakula Vinayagar and Mailam Group of Institutions to higher education.
For over 25 years, our parent group has contributed to academic growth across technical, medical, and professional disciplines. Through its institutions, it has supported the educational aspirations of more than 75,000 students from different parts of the country.
As academic and industry expectations evolved, we recognised the need for a broader learning environment that could bring together multiple disciplines within a single campus. This vision led to the establishment of Takshashila University, creating opportunities for students to pursue programmes across engineering, sciences, humanities, healthcare, and management.

We operate with approvals and recognitions from key statutory and professional bodies in India, supporting the credibility and recognition of our academic programmes.
University Grants Commission
We are recognised by the University Grants Commission, the principal regulatory body for higher education in India. This recognition ensures that the degrees awarded by us are aligned with national higher education regulations.

National Medical Commission
Approval from the National Medical Commission supports our medical education framework and strengthens the delivery of academic and clinical training for future healthcare professionals.
Pharmacy Council of India
Our pharmacy programmes are approved by the Pharmacy Council of India, reflecting adherence to established academic, laboratory, and professional standards within pharmaceutical education.
Government of Tamil Nadu
We have been established through the relevant legislative framework and government notifications issued by the Government of Tamil Nadu, affirming our status as a State Private University.
Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council and Government Approval
Our nursing programmes are supported by approvals from the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council, along with the relevant state government authorities. These recognitions enable students to pursue professional opportunities in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
The Value of These Recognitions
The approvals and recognitions we have received reflect our commitment to operating within established academic and professional standards. Across engineering, management, medicine, pharmacy, nursing, and other disciplines, we offer programmes aligned with recognised regulatory frameworks. This foundation supports academic quality, professional preparedness, and confidence in the qualifications earned by our students.
The Sri Manakula Vinayagar and Mailam Group of Institutions spent over 25 years building a strong foundation in higher education across engineering, healthcare, management, sciences, and professional studies, impacting more than 75,000 students.
Takshashila University was established in Ongur, Tamil Nadu, as a State Private University with a vision to revive the spirit of the ancient Takshashila and create a multidisciplinary learning environment for future leaders. The university came into force on 27 May 2022.
The university was founded to bring diverse disciplines together under one campus, enabling students to pursue programmes across engineering, sciences, healthcare, management, humanities, and emerging fields of study.
With modern classrooms, laboratories, research facilities, industry collaborations, and experiential learning opportunities, the university strengthened its academic ecosystem to support holistic student development.
Academic programmes across healthcare and professional disciplines continued to strengthen through approvals and compliance with statutory bodies, including the Pharmacy Council of India and other relevant regulatory authorities.
Takshashila University was included under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, reinforcing its position within India's recognised higher education framework and further strengthening the value of its academic programmes.
