Introduction

Takshashila University hosted a special observance of World Commerce Day on August 17, 2026, organised by the School of Commerce at the Multipurpose Hall, bringing together the Chief guest Mrs. Sathyapriya Chidambaram, Director, Luxentra Private Limited, along with faculty members and students, to celebrate the spirit of trade, innovation, and enterprise under the theme “Innovate, Integrate, Inspire.”

Key Objective of the Programme:

The celebration aimed to build student awareness of the evolving landscape of commerce, business, entrepreneurship, and industry, encouraging them to look beyond conventional approaches and understand how technology and changing consumer behaviour are transforming commercial practice. It also sought to bridge academic learning with industry perspective, helping students build the adaptability and critical thinking needed for emerging opportunities in the field.

Honouring the Chief Guest:

Welcome address:

The programme commenced with a Welcome Address, extending a formal welcome to the Chief Guest, faculty members, and students, and establishing the tenor of the day’s proceedings while highlighting the significance of the occasion.

Special Address:

A Special Address was delivered by Dr. A. Suphalakshmi, Dean, Faculty of Management and Commerce, highlighted the role of the School of Commerce in nurturing experienced professionals equipped to meet the demands of the evolving business environment. She emphasised the importance of strong fundamentals, discipline, curiosity, and consistency as essential foundations for long-term professional growth. Her address also highlighted the institution’s commitment to providing students with meaningful exposure and learning opportunities that extend beyond the classroom.

Keynote Address by the Chief Guest :

The Chief Guest address was delivered by Mrs. Sathyapriya Chidambaram, Director, Luxentra Private Limited, who shared valuable insights from her professional experience in the business and commerce sector. She spoke on the importance of staying informed and prepared to meet the evolving demands of the professional world. As part of the celebration, a prize distribution ceremony was held to recognise and felicitate the participants of the various activities organised for World Commerce Day. The winners were presented with certificates and prizes by the dignitaries on stage, acknowledging their enthusiasm and active participation in the event. The gesture served as encouragement for students to continue engaging in such academic and co-curricular initiatives in the future.

Takshashila University hosted CRESENDO’26 – Inter-School Cultural Fest on September 3, 2026, at the Multipurpose Hall, organised by its Faculty of Engineering and Technology and Faculty of Management and Commerce, bringing school students from various institutions onto a common platform to celebrate creativity, confidence and self-expression. The programme encouraged participants to step beyond the classroom, showcasing their talent through dance, singing, drawing and essay writing in an atmosphere of healthy competition and personal growth.
