International Women’s Day Celebration | Takshashila University

Introduction :

Takshashila University proudly celebrated International Women’s Day on 09 March 2026 at 2:30 PM at the Multipurpose Hall with a special event dedicated to recognizing the achievements, strength, and invaluable contributions of women in society. The celebration aimed to inspire students and faculty members by emphasizing the significance of gender equality, women’s empowerment, and leadership. The program served as a platform to honor the remarkable role of women in shaping communities while encouraging the academic community to foster inclusivity, respect, and equal opportunities for all.

Cultural Invocation :

The event commenced with a graceful Cultural Invocation presented by the students. The traditional dance performance symbolized respect, positivity, and the welcoming of auspicious beginnings. Through this artistic expression, the performers set a harmonious and celebratory tone for the Women’s Day celebration, captivating the audience and marking a meaningful start to the program.

Welcome Address :

The Welcome Address was delivered by the event coordinator, who warmly welcomed the Chief Guest, dignitaries, faculty members, and students to the Women’s Day celebration. In the address, heartfelt appreciation was extended to the Chief Guest for graciously accepting the invitation and honoring the occasion with her presence.

The speaker also emphasized the significance of celebrating International Women’s Day, highlighting the importance of recognizing women’s achievements, promoting equality, and encouraging empowerment in all spheres of society. Honouring the Chief Guest :

Felicitation Address :

The Felicitation Address was delivered by Prof. Dr. S. Senthil, Registrar, Takshashila University. In his address, he extended a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, Ms. J. Kirubalakshmi, Inspector of Police, All Women Police Station, Tindivanam, and expressed his appreciation for her gracious presence at the Women’s Day celebration.

He highlighted the significant role played by the police department in safeguarding society, particularly during the challenging period of the COVID-19 pandemic.
