World Physiotherapy Day

Takshashila University observed World Physiotherapy Day on 8 September 2026 with a Health Camp conducted at Takshashila Medical College, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., organised by the School of Physiotherapy for the university’s non-teaching staff. The camp focused on promoting preventive healthcare and overall well-being, highlighting the role of physiotherapy in movement, physical fitness, rehabilitation and healthy living. Through health screening, physiotherapy consultation, nutrition counselling and preventive care awareness, staff members received practical guidance to become more conscious of their health and daily wellness practices.

Key Objectives of the programme:  

The health camp was organised with the objective of strengthening preventive healthcare awareness among the university’s non-teaching staff. It aimed to encourage regular monitoring of essential health indicators, while providing physiotherapy evaluations and guidance on posture, physical fitness and injury prevention. The camp also offered diet and nutrition counselling to encourage healthier daily habits. Overall, the initiative sought to promote a proactive approach to health and well-being across the university community.

Chief Guest Address:

Health Assessment: Essential parameters — height, weight, blood pressure, SpO₂ and Body Mass Index (BMI) were measured, helping participants understand key health indicators.

Physiotherapy Consultation: Staff received individual evaluations focused on movement, posture and physical concerns affecting daily activities, along with guidance to support mobility and overall physical function.

Diet and Nutrition Counselling: Participants received advice on balanced nutrition and sustainable, practical lifestyle choices to support long-term health.

Preventive Physiotherapy and Wellness Awareness: Sessions covered cardiovascular fitness, correct posture (including workplace posture habits), injury prevention and the value of regular physical activity. The camp reinforced physiotherapy’s role not only in rehabilitation but in maintaining mobility, functional fitness and everyday physical well-being.

Impact of the programme:

Health and wellness awareness across the university community was significantly strengthened by the camp, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from non-teaching staff in the health screening, physiotherapy consultation and nutrition counselling sessions. CRESENDO’26: A Celebration of Young Talent

Takshashila University hosted CRESENDO’26 – Inter-School Cultural Fest on September 3, 2026, at the Multipurpose Hall, organised by its Faculty of Engineering and Technology and Faculty of Management and Commerce, bringing school students from various institutions onto a common platform to celebrate creativity, confidence and self-expression. The programme encouraged participants to step beyond the classroom, showcasing their talent through dance, singing, drawing and essay writing in an atmosphere of healthy competition and personal growth.
