About the Dean

Dr. M. JAYASREE, the Devoted and an outstanding Dean of the Medical Sciences, has compassionately taken up this commendable mission during April 2024, an exceptional Medical professional from the distinguished Kilpauk Medical College, Chennai, Tamilnadu with an imposing and reassuring record of around 27 years of excellence in her determined career. Dr. Jayasree has started her journey of professional excellence in 2005 with Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College and Hospital (SMVMCH), Puducherry, a renowned and revolutionary Multi-specialty tertiary care hospital with comprehensive medical research facilities, and has been continuing her uninterrupted and untiring endeavor optimistically for the welfare of society. In addition to her service, she has published several publications, which have been serving as the primary sources and major referrals for the Medical students and Medical practitioners. She has presented numerous research articles, especially on Obstetrics and Gynecology in National and International seminars, Conferences and Workshops. Dr. Jayasree has written a variety of comprehensive articles in various books and journals, for medical and para medical students, related to the health and hygiene of women. She has been organizing various lectures and presentations on menstrual hygiene for government high school and College girls in many parts of Villupuram district, Tamilnadu along with non-governmental organizations, to create complete and comprehensive awareness and renaissance in health care for women, especially hailing from rural areas.

Dr.Jayasree has been an ardent and active participant in framing curriculum and finalizing the post-graduate research proposals and introduction to qualitative research, modified assessment pattern ( including OSCE) according to CBME curriculum for undergraduate students.

Dr. M. Jayasree has been a dynamic and passionate member in various associations, such as Executive committee member, Pondicherry Obstetrics and Gynecological Society, Joint secretary -Indian Fertility Society and so on, which would persistently be combating to prevent various unforeseen medical threats against the human society.

Dr. M. Jayasree instinctively distinguishes and shares in the feelings and experiences of others, habitually extending support, kindness, and comfort, which recognize her to connect with individuals on a profound level, developing trust and support to understand the world from others’ viewpoints to comprehend their challenges and motivations. She always extends words of confidence and inspiration, facilitating to inspire the persons, who are going through a forbidding time. Hence, Dr. M. Jayasree has widely be known as ‘The Doctor of Wisdom, Sympathy and Empathy’, for her determined and inexorable medical service to the society and nation.
